ABOUT US
Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Interior Architecture, Semester 6
We are Semester 6, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Interior Architecture, Semester 6 from Taylor’s University enrolled the Community Services Initiative module this semester. We are doing a collaboration work with the Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-Orang Cacat Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan (PPOC) as part of the Service Learning process which is a form of experiential education in which students engage in activities that address human and community needs together with structured opportunities intentionally design to promote student learning and development.” (Jacoby 1996 p.5) Our intention stand along with the PPOC aims for this programme in which to nurture a culture of represent and care towards all members of the community.
The purpose of this project is to expose students to a real community and work as a team through embarking a series of community works:

Enhancing their one-and-only classroom for daily learning class

Creating “Fun-Learning Aids Materials” as part of their activities to support community of Learning Disabilities specifically
The module for 10 weeks long. It took about 6 weeks to carry out the project, whereas final presentation has been conducted in week 7. We had felt glad to have such experience before walking into the reality work culture. Thanks to Taylor’s University for given us such great opportunity.
